United by the Cancer and Blood Disorders program, staff (physicians, nurses, nutritionists, therapists) and families are lacing up our running shoes to run the Medtronic 10 mile (and marathon) on Sunday, Oct. 6. Our fundraising efforts support the Cancer Kids Fund at Children's Minnesota to ease the cancer and blood disorders journey for patients and their families along with safer, more effective cancer treatments

The Cancer Kids Fund helps patients and families in many ways. 

Some of these include: 
- Everyday expenses like meals and parking
- Bigger expenses like mortgage payments - as most families have to take time off work to stay in the hospital, attend clinic appointments, and care for their children
- fertility preservation 
- Supportive services like psychologists, music therapists, child life specialists, and dietitians
- Items to keep kids happy and busy in the clinic and hospital like art supplies, toys, and games.
- Camp Breakaway - a week long summer camp for children with cancer or life threatening blood disorders and their sibings.
- Research to find new and better treatments.
