Our Story and Why:

On June 18th 2015, we lost our son Aiden Koch. He was diagnosed with a rare disease called Mitochondrial DNA Depletion syndrome- type 2. So rare, he was the 46th case in the entire world at the time and I don't think there have been many children that have followed. 

We have spent years sharing Aiden and his story and hoping that we are honoring him in a way that he would be proud of us. Creating a legacy for someone who isn't here anymore is challenging and comforting at the same time. We haven't been as active in asking for donations, but I know that funds can sometimes have the biggest impact when people don't know what to do or how to help those who are grieving. Even with all this time that has passed, it sometimes feels like it was yesterday that he was with us. 

That beautiful smile and those big huge eyes that could look deep into one's soul will never be forgotten and forever engrained in my being. 

The Children and Family Services have been woven throughout the care with Aiden, to the bereavement, and now with our experiences with Greyson and Owen. This is one of the fund to needs that once the money is used, it is gone and with the amount of families and children the hospital serves, the needs are great. These are the funds that support every aspect of the care. Please consider donating to support Children's and honor Aiden's Legacy. 

October 26, 2024 Boo Bash Benefit for Children's MN! 

Join our family and community for a Halloween-themed fun night at the Playground Plaza in Maple Grove from 5:30-8 pm. It is free admission to come play and attend the event with a suggested donation of $30 per family of 4 or $10 per person.
