The I’m With Alec Fund directly supports young patients and their families through the Cancer and Blood Disorders program at Children’s Minnesota. The fund was started to address a need we saw while Alec was receiving treatment. 

ALEC'S STORY 

Alec Santelman was 17 when he was diagnosed with localized Ewing sarcoma in January 2025. What started as upper right leg pain turned into a surgery and many tests to lead to this rare diagnosis. 

On November 4, 2025, Alec was declared cancer-free! 

Throughout a grueling 10 months of tests, chemo and radiation at Children’s Minnesota and Mayo Clinic, Alec was a warrior with a deep faith, a supportive community and a positive mental attitude.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Alec plans to get his academic and college football plans back on track at Bethel University in the Spring of 2026. 

Alec is committed to sharing his story and message of the importance of a positive mindset and physical activity during treatment to help other kids fighting cancer.
