As a Division I women’s hockey player, I’ve learned the value of perseverance, teamwork, and pushing forward even when the challenge feels overwhelming. Those same qualities inspire my dream of one day attending medical school and dedicating my life to helping others. As part of my support, I volunteer at Children's Minnesota and host community skating events and fundraisers for the Cancer Kids Fund which helps patients & families battling cancer. Supporting kids with cancer is especially meaningful to me because their strength and resilience are truly incredible. While I work toward my goals on the ice and in the classroom, I also want to use my platform to give back—helping bring hope, support, and smiles to children and families facing some of the toughest battles imaginable. Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference in the lives of these brave kids and reminds them they’re never fighting alone.

 

Inspired by her volunteer experiences at Children's Minnesota, Maddie partnered with her University of St. Thomas teammates to host the inaugural Maddie's Magic Skates hockey camp. The event brought together young athletes, families, and supporters to raise funds and awareness for the Cancer Kids Fund, helping ensure children facing cancer receive the care and support they need.
