My name is Emi Carpenter, and I’m raising funds to support Children’s Minnesota, a place that has been a lifeline for my three younger sisters. Bhanushree, Eden & Isla all have Thalassemia Major, a genetic blood disorder that requires blood transfusions every three weeks. In 2017 my family adopted Bhanushree from India when she was 3.5 years old. Bhanu is currently 10 years old and in 5th grade. In 2019, my parents were made aware of 19-month-old twins in China with Thalassemia who needed a family and we made the decision to adopt Eden and Isla. In 2019, when they were 2 years old we all travelled to China to bring them home and became a family of seven! They are now 7 years old and in 2nd grade. 

The care that Bhanu, Eden and Isla receive at Children’s Minnesota has been invaluable; helping them thrive and live life to the fullest. Children's has continually given our family the support we need through this challenging journey. This fundraiser is my way of giving back to the specialty clinic that has made such a difference in our lives - times three! With your support, we can help ensure that children like my sisters continue to receive the vital care they need.
