Hi! My name is Alison and for the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a Physician Assistant in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis. Every day in the CVOR is intense, precise, and deeply meaningful. I scrub in alongside extraordinary pediatric cardiac surgeons, assisting in complex open-heart procedures to repair congenital heart defects in newborns, infants, children, and sometimes young adults. Being part of this team is extremely fulfilling.

But the work doesn’t stop in the operating room. I see firsthand how every donation, every bit of support, fuels the cutting-edge equipment, research, family-centered programs, and life-saving care that make miracles possible for these kids and their families.

That’s why I’m lacing up for a half marathon — to turn running into something bigger. Through Team Superstars, Children’s Minnesota’s official charity running team, I’m raising funds to support the cardiovascular program that changes lives every day. Every mile I run is dedicated to the brave children we’ve cared for, the families who’ve trusted us, and the future patients who will walk through our doors.
