Running for Flin: running 10 miles to support the Cancer Kids Fund
I am honored to be a part of Team Superstars again this year to run the Twin Cities 10 mile and fundraise for The Cancer Kids fund. Last year was an incredibly powerful experience running for Flin and all of the other kiddos and families who know all too well about childhood cancer. Every step I took in last year's run was powered by Flin's journey and all of the others who have fought the unimaginable fight. I can't wait to honor them again and raise money for a cause that supported our family and continues to support others.
Together we are raising money for the Cancer Kids Fund. This fund helps support families who are going through the unthinkable journey of childhood cancer. The Cancer Kids Fund helps support families financially so that all of their energy can go towards where it matters most, the kids. It helped us while Flin was going through treatment and it continues to benefit him to this day. This summer he is attending his second sleepaway camp with other kiddos who have/had cancer, Camp Breakaway, all thanks to donations and the Cancer Kids Fund. It was his favorite part of last summer and he can't wait to go back! It's an incredible experience that lets these kids bond over their cancer experience while also allowing them to be kids.
A little bit about Flin's cancer history:
In July of 2021 Flin was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Wilms tumor. He completed 44 weeks of treatment, which required several hospital stays and endless clinic visits. Children’s was our home away from home and will always hold a special place in our heart for helping Flin win the battle.
Thanks so much for helping us support these kids and their families! 💛💛💛
