My name is Jordan Hansen and for the 2nd year in a row, I am honored to be an Ambassador for the Children's Star Gala! 

In March of 2017, I went to the Children's Concussion Clinic.  When I could not walk by putting one foot in front of the other, an MRI was scheduled along with some physical therapy.  The MRI revealed a brain tumor and I was subsequently diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (aka brain cancer).  At that time, my favorite things were hockey, golf, baseball, my family and friends.  2017 was filled with surgery to put in a drain, another 14 hour surgery to remove the tumor, 6 weeks of proton beam radiation, 4 rounds of chemotherapy and 2 years of physical and occupational therapy.  I am so grateful for the incredible care that I received at Children's to restore my health through treatment and rehabilitation. 

With great joy, I can tell you that I am enjoying being a member of the Orono High School golf team, managing the Boys HS V team,  driving the Zamboni at Morrison Ice Arena, playing hockey in the Minnesota Hockey Rec League, navigating school, preparing for college and spending time with family and friends.   

As you can see, I LOVE hockey.  Missing hockey brought about many emotions.  My friends and hockey community have stayed with me throughout my journey.  While I can no longer compete at the highest levels or the ones I used to dream about, being able to raise money is a tremendous honor and has helped me to stay involved.

Without the early intervention, great research and care provided by Children's together with the unending prayers and the saving grace of Jesus, things could have turned out very differently.
