I work as an RN in the Emergency Department, and I am incredibly grateful for the child life specialists that I have the privilege to work along side. They make interventions and treatments less scary and allow me to do my job much smoother.  Additionally, they are invaluable in caring for family members/siblings of kids in the hospital. 

Child life is something that allows us to follow the comfort promise. They help kids be kids, even when things are scary. While they are amazing, they unfortunately are not a "money making" department of the hospital and rely on donations to be staffed and have equipment to help the kids.
