Hudson was my 18 month old grandson who was a patient at Children's in Minneapolis. He was diagnosed with a high grade pediatric glioma 2 weeks before his first birthday.  His journey to the end was heart wrenching. The care he received from the amazing staff at children's during this journey was beyond incredible. Dr Bendel and her team, along with the entire oncology floor, became family.  We lost sweet Hudson on August 10th, 2024. We are still early on in this grief journey. It's been difficult to think of visiting the hospital and those there that cared for him.  For me, this is a step in this journey of grief. A way to give back to a place that supported him and his family at a time when that seemed nearly impossible. 

I have prior ties to Children's from my past, as well.   I was once an employee there many years ago in the records department. My boyfriends daughter was also once a patient of Dr Bendels at Children's and survived her brain cancer.  Today she is a mother of 3 beautiful, amazing children. 

Children's of Minnesota has a very special and significant place in my heart.
