I am running with Children’s to help bring awareness to my son’s rare disease, Pompe Disease, and to others like his. 

My son, Owen, was diagnosed with Pompe Disease at 5 days old and received care from Childrens. The medical team from the Pompe Department gave my wife and I a tremendous amount of comfort and hope during some very dark hours.

While children with rare diseases should never be treated as different, they often require extra care and additional support from those around them no matter the severity of their disease.

It’s easy to forget the impact of childhood disease when the physical and emotional pain isn’t visible every day. Bringing awareness is essential to creating a future where fewer children and families have to walk these journeys. Every donation, no matter the size, can make a difference—helping ensure that children in need of these life-saving treatments are seen, supported, and given the best possible quality of life.
